Master and Commander

“Master and Commander” is a movie about the sea war between France and England. It shows things such as life on a ship, ideas of warfare, science in the military, relationships and such things like that. It shows that how people can once be friends and then cross sides. The captains of the two ships where once friends and then took different sides during battle.  The enlish were attacked by the french and the ship destroyed. The ehnglish goes back and attacks the french ships by useing tricky. But, I also feel that the movie was quite slow at pionts and long.

Master and Commander kept my attention through the movie. It was much more enjoyable to follow as compared to the other movies since there was a story line and plot. The movie was about the British fighting the French and about the struggle that they went through to make their final say. The story follows the British and mainly the captain who goes through both a change of attitude and strategy to fight. At the end he lets a friend go onto the Galapagos Islands while displaying an uncharacteristically amiable behavior and in return gains military knowledge. At the end of the movie the British won the battle at the loss of some. The movie was interesting but sometimes confusing at parts.

The movie, Master and Commander, is an excellent movie displaying the ideas of warfare, friendship, importance of relationships, science in the military, and the different aspects of life. The movie is about the battle between the British and French. The British attacked on the French and their ships were completely destroyed. The captains of British and French ships were friends and had to take different positions during the battle breaking their friendship. The French goes back in search of British ships to attack them. But, the British again destroyed their ships and won the Battle. The movie was confusing at some points and I was lost. It was also too long but it did a good job of displaying the past battleships and their reactions to the world.

overall, i found the movie to be very interesting to watch. Watching the movie a second time around gave me a better understanding of the plot. Originally I had seen the movie when it came out in 2004, at that time, i had thought of the movie to be a bit on the boring side. Watching the movie a second time gave me a better understanding of the plot, and the events which took place in the movie. The movie takes place during the Napoleonic wars between the nations of England and France. The two main characters were Jack, the Captain and Steven the doctor. Initially the movie begins with Jack’s ship being attacked by the superior French ship which almost nearly anhiliates the entire crew of the English ship. In an effort to get revenge, jack gets his ship repaired in a foreign land and sets out to look for the the French ship. In the process of their sailing,  they come to the Galapagos islands, where they discover millions of new species which they had no idea about. while they are at the islands, they rediscover the French ship and chase after it, and a huge naval battle occurs, in the end, Jack and his crew ends up coming out on top as they are able to conquer the superior French vessel. Overall i was able to understand the context of the movie more as i watched it a second time.

This movie was very interesting. I liked the overall plot of the movie. The fact that they were living on a ship and did everything in there made it very interesting. I was amazed how they were able to live in a ship for so long and just depend on nature. The two main characters were Jack, the Captain and Steven the doctor. jack is very dedicated to his work and seeeks revenge to all the enemies at sea. Steven on the other hand is a maturalist and believes that nature comes before fighting and revenge. They are very good friends but have a disagreement when it comes to Steven wanting to stay in places and explore but Jack wants to go conquer. I didn’t like how children were volunteered to the army and how so many if them died. I was very proud of that boy that got his arm cut-off with no medication or anything. Also the way alot of them found operations and scientfic stuff entertaining. Their ship was pretty trong because it was able to take all the fighting they got into and still look nice. This was an excellent movie and I would recommend it to other people.

I really liked this movie. I think that the books would be interesting to read but I also feel that they would get boring at parts. The movie was quite long and thats why i get the feeling that the book might drag at times. Other than that I thought the movie was very entertaining. I really liked the ending, the little twist that the French captain was not actually dead. I also liked how much the success of the ship and voyage was based on the participation of the crew. All of the crew members had specific jobs that they could do better than anyone else, thus making them essential to the voyage. Today if you know how to flip a few switches and press a few buttons you can  sail a cruise liner by yourself. Back then everyone had to work together and do their job so that thing went smoothly. All in all i thought it was a great movie.

Master and Commander begins on British fleet ship that is intercepted by a French war ship during the Napoleonic Wars. Following their near assimilation, Jack, the captain, is out for a military revenge. The majority of the documentary is spent rebuilding the ship and trying to find a way to defeat this French vessel. After a trip on the Galapagos islands, a young amputee along with the ship’s doctor, Stephan, present Jack with an insect with the ability to camouflage itself. From this, he is able to formulate a new plan of attack and defeat the French ship from behind. I enjoyed seeing the final battle, despite it’s long set-up, watching the development of the characters, and (as Nya pointed out) the contrast between the naturalist doctor and the militaristic commander.

Master of Commander is a movie about a British’s naval ship that is attack by French’s ship. This French’s naval ship is completely superior to the British. They battle and the British’s ship was badly damage and was barely able to escape. The captain began to follow the ship and he wants to destroy it. But his best friend the naturalist is telling him that he is acting crazy. They then stop at the Galapagos Island, where the naturalist looks at all the new creatures. Where he sees the French naval ship, he goes back to the captain and the captain comes up with a plan to disguise the ship as a whale ship. They destroy the ship and it is a sign that English could defeat the French.

The movie, Master and Commander, was a great movie about the naval battles back in the 1800’s. There was exciting battles, interesting moments that showed how different their time is to ours, and even small moments of comedy. One of the most interesting parts of the movie to me was the medical practice in the movie. For example, when the doctor had to amputate the child’s arm after this one battle, and how the doctor had to operate on himself because he was shot by one of the members of the crew who was trying to kill a bird. All-in-all the movie was enjoyable and did did a great job showing a naval battle in the 1800’s

The Master and Commander is the best movie yet that we have watched. It is a very interesting movie. Basically the movie is about naval warfare in  early times.  Eventually technology changes everything.  Some interesting things in this movie is that it was not clear the real purpose of their expedition. However it seemed like that they wanted to make some natural science discovery too.  It is interesting how the young boys like Peter took charge of the boat. I liked the part were they made a fake replica of their boat to survive from the technologically better one. At the end there were a lot  blood, and death which makes it a little sad.  Over all I loved the movie.
